Salient Feature Of Network Keypads

Most of the network keypads are made from stainless aluminium or steel. They are designed in a way that they comply with the safety standards also. Some even come with a tactile sensation so that the physically handicapped people can also use them. Apart from these, these can also be customized to meet any other requirements as well. These are apt for indoor as well as outdoor applications.

Many companies also provide a sealing gasket with each keypad. This sealing gasket can be used for any kind of mounting- front or back. This helps to seal out water and dust. The number of keys to be used in the keypad can also be customized. These keys use a LED back lightening. The keys are also available in various sizes and shapes like round or square etc. This makes them apt even for the dark environments. Generally, the standard X-Y matrix is used for the electrical output but other customizations can also be done. Also, most of these metal keypads only use single high speed cable.

A network keypad can have a key switch lifetime of as high as five million operations. Also, the lettering done is mostly laser engraved which gives it further durability. These can be made to function from -10 degree Celsius to +60 degree Celsius. Many can even work over a much broader range. Many come with an inbuilt tamper switch. Other major feature of metal keypads is that they come with multiple termination and cabling options.

The installation of all the metallic outdoor keypads is almost the same and fairly simple. It contains several wires connecting it to power supply etc. Most of the cables exit centrally from the back, which makes it very simple for drilling and mounting them. They also contain a terminal strip making it ideal to be connected to the external wiring. The settings and the codes can be programmed via the Network keypad. Some may also have relay contacts that can be used for triggering devices. Many companies also offer the choice of choosing between metal mounting plate and metal surface mounting box.
